Music has long been known to be a powerful tool in communicating one’s feelings and thoughts. Studies have even shown that music can trigger a specific memory to a person’s mind. This process is the reason for the numerous TV advertisements and jingles that we see today. It is also the reason behind why TV shows would put an introduction song before the show starts. These songs, sound tracks and sound clips capture the audiences’ attention and make them connect the song with a certain product or show.
Here are some memorable sounds and songs, in no particular order, that have managed to capture our attention and moved us into patronizing a certain product:
1. I’d Like to Buy the World a Coke (originally, “I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing”)
- This 1980’s song from a Coca Cola commercial always manage to conjure up images of people of all colors standing together and holding a bottle of Coca Cola
2. Always Coca Cola, Holidays Are Coming
- These songs, although with limited lyrics, have an uplifting effect to people.
3. Psycho
- Who can ever forget the scream of the girl as she was about to be stabbed while taking a shower or the haunting tune used in that movie? To this day, that sound clip can still send shivers to your spine.
5. X Files Introduction Song
- Mulder and Scully might no longer be around but the haunting tune that was played before the episode starts lives on to this day.
6. Beyond The Sea
- This song calls to mind Nemo and his dad as they sail through the ocean in search of each other
7. Star Wars theme song
- No matter where you hear this, images of Jedi knights and Chewbacca would be the only thing you would be thinking of.
